Before your appointment
For menstrual cycle testing, days 2 to 5 are commonly requested, counting the first day of bleeding as day 1. Confirm timing if periods are absent, irregular or part of fertility treatment. Biotin supplements may affect this test. Discuss a pause with the clinic or prescriber before collection. Hormonal contraception can affect interpretation. Discuss this with your clinician; do not change contraception solely on the basis of this page.

Sample tubes: 1 x yellow. Some markers are not reported from capillary samples. A clinic venous sample may be needed for the complete panel.
